Ibn Muqlaابن مقلة

886–940 · Baghdad

Abbasid vizier three times over and the lawgiver of calligraphy. His proportional system — dot, alif, circle — turned beauty into geometry and made every later script teachable. Political rivals cut off his right hand; tradition says he tied the pen to his stump and kept writing. No verified page in his hand survives, which only deepens the legend: his true work is the system itself.

Legacy: al-khatt al-mansub — the proportioned-script canon.

وزيرٌ عباسي ثلاث مرات ومُشرِّع الخط. نظامه في النسب — النقطة والألف والدائرة — حوّل الجمال هندسةً وجعل كل خط لاحق قابلاً للتعليم. قطع خصومه السياسيون يده اليمنى، وتقول الرواية إنه ربط القلم إلى ساعده وواصل الكتابة. لم تصلنا صفحة موثقة بيده، وهذا يعمّق الأسطورة: عمله الحقيقي هو النظام نفسه.
