Masoud Nejabati was born in 1967 (1346 in the Iranian calendar). He studied graphic design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran and, at the same time, studied calligraphy in theory and practice at the Iranian Calligraphers Association, where he completed the advanced course; he later took a master's degree in graphic design at the Tehran University of Art. His work joins Persian calligraphy and typography: posters, logos, book covers and publishing design, much of it for religious and cultural bodies. In 2000 he designed the Persia typeface, published by Bitstream, and in 2001 he wrote a school textbook on calligraphy in graphic design. His awards include a diploma of honour at the first Calligraphy Exhibition of the Islamic World (1997) and prizes at the Tehran Qur'an exhibition and the Iranian graphic design biennial. He has taught in Tehran and Qom since 1996.
